Signed letter of intent(2)

Valeriu Lazarescu:The Tribe got their second commit of the year in Canadian guard Valeriu Lazarescu. He attended a college in Montreal, is 6′4″, and a Sophomore. He is smart, as he wanted a good academic school and was looking at American and Princeton. His coach mentioned several times that he is “a flat-out scorer”. He attended the same school as ODU commit Etoile Imama.\

Marcus Kitts:A big man(PF/C) from Middle Creek HS in Apex, NC. Averaged 19 points per game his junior year. Here is a blurb about him from Rivals:

“Marcus Kitts, Carolina Celtics – William and Mary stole this kid. The 6-foot-8 forward committed early to the CAA program and people are starting to figure out just how good he is. The Apex, N.C. native will go to work inside the paint, playing hard against all comers. He keeps the ball high on offense, rebounds with a purpose and will play hard from tip to the final buzzer ”

Other noteworthy teams he had interest in:JMU, UNCW

Targets(10)

Sean McCurdy(Transfer from Arkansas)-This sophomore guard played in 30 games for the Razorbacks this year, and has decided to transfer to either W&M, Richmond, Wofford, or Colgate. Here’s hoping.

Ben O’Donnell-A point-guard from Tampa who looks to be pretty good. Started for 4 years in high school and has his decision down to W&M and ETSU.

Darius Johnson-Odom:The 5-11 NC point guard has recieved interest from college of Charleston(in the form of an offer), VCU, and W&M. Is one of the top guards in the 2007 NC class, and won a state championship(was game MVP). Sounds a little like Calvin to me…

Jack Eggleston:A 6-7 power foward from Fort Lauderdale, Jack Eggleston is drawing interest from the likes of Stanford and Wake. More about him here.

Landon Tatum:A 6 foot nothing point guard from San Antonio, Tatum is a pass first point guard, but he can knock down open J’s, says CAA insider.

Teddy Greissing:Smart kid, has several Ivy League schools on his list. Lives in MD, so we are fairly local.

RJ Dixon:A 6 foot PG from NJ, Dixon has recieved interest from Boston, Colgate, Niagra, Wofford, and W&M(though he has gotten no offers). He averaged 14 points last season. Here a pay article from Rivals.

Matt Glass:6-7, 195 SF. Massachusetts native, and UMASS has given him an offer. If we offer, we are one of the best teams on his list so I wouldn’t be shocked to get him. Scout.

Aaron Bond:A 6-4 point guard from Georgetown Prep in MD. Has already received offers from Bucknell and Richmond(amoung others). i95ballerz.

Daniel Pierce:Pierce is a 6-5 shooting guard from New Mexico. He has gotten no offers yet, but has drawn interest from 5 schools. Averaged over 26 PPG last year(top in the state). Moutain View Telegraph.

Justin Robinson:6-2 PG from New Jersey. Has yet to receive any offers, but has some sort of interest from places like Duke, Villanova, and BC. At the same time, he has interest from Evansville. Rivals.

Going elsewhere….(12)

Tim Abromaitis:The 6-7 SF from Connecticut is visiting the college 9/29-9/30. Here is a piece of a scout.com article…

While he has managed to fly under the radar, Abromaitis just returned from an official visit to Penn – and he has trips set up for William & Mary this weekend, Northwestern (Oct. 6) and Princeton (Oct. 20). He is also considering Yale, where his brother, Jason, is a senior forward.

He is also described as “one of the more underrated players in the country. Hopefully he is impressed in his visit.

Abromaitis visit report:He seemed pretty happy, and we pulled out all the stops. The entire team, Nichol, Driscoll, and Shaver showing him around.

COMMITED TO ND

Noah States:The 6-7 small foward has received offers from W&M and JMU. It’s who he hasn’t received offers from yet that opens eyes(at least for us Tribe fans). WVU, UVA, VT, Stanford, Penn State, ND, NCST, and Illinois.COMMITED TO FURMAN

Kyle Griffin:The shooting guard from Philly has apparently narrowed his choice down to 4 teams. Bucknell, Siena, UD, and W&M. Rivals.COMMITED TO LA SALLE

Zack Crimmins:6-11, 190. Interest list has ND, UConn and UNC on it, and I’m sure he’d go there if they really do have interest. Has narrowed down his choices to Lafayette, Bucknell, Columbia. DCMetrohoops.net reports.

Zack Cremmins takes an official to Columbia…On Thursday Zack Cremmins took a trip to Columbia University. Zack has listed a final three as Columia, Bucknell, and Lafayette. In no particular order. Announcement to come soon.

Bishop O’Connol ProfileCOMMITED TO COLUMBIA

Jimmer Fredette:6-2, 190 point guard from New York. We did not offer. Here is some analysis from CAAInsider:

Jimmer is an excellent shooting point guard.  He can hit from behind the arc and also off the dribble.  He has he has a weird release that is off to the side rather than straight on though.  He likes to use head fakes to freeze defenders, but he doesn’t appears to be a great ball handler.  Jimmer has good height, but is an average athlete at best.  He’s also a decent passer, but not exceptional in that area.  He also isn’t very quick defensively moving laterally and needs to improve in that area.

I saw Darius Johnson-Odom drop either 45 or 49 tonight for Wakefield in a three point or so win against thier biggest rival.
Included was a monster two-handed alley oop jam.
He’s a left hander that is very good with his right hand also.
