Tribe Blows GSU Out of the Hall, 81-65

Posted by TTHS on January 28th, 2007

What an incredible game, from the great play on the court to the energy of the fans. You could have made each player a highlight reel from this game, so that’s exactly what I’ll do…

AP-Payton didn’t make any flashy plays tonight, but quietly dropped another 17 points. He was 5-6 from the field, 2-2 from 3, and 5-6 from the stripe. He is quickly becoming one of the CAA’s better players.

Laimis Kisielius-A very solid overall game for him. 17 points and 5 assists. He was 7-11 from the field, and 1-2 from the stripe. Also had another 2 boards.

Peter Stein-Pete was the biggest suprise of the game, dominating the post. He was 2-2 from 3, and if you sleep on him he is legitimately becoming a threat. 4 boards, 12 points, and 4-5 from the field.

David Schneider-David had a very solid game that may not show up on the stat sheet. He scored 9 points and was 3-10 from the field, but also had 4 boards and 5 assists. He really rocked the gym with some great moves, and passing.

Adam Trumbower-Trum got his first career start tonight, and made the most of it. For the second straight game he made 2 3’s, 2-2 tonight, and finished with 8 points. He didn’t miss a shot, and had a team-high 3 steals.

Nathan Mann-Definitely not his best game, but he had a reverse lay-up that was the most athletic play I have seen out of him. He had 5 points and was 2-5 from the field in 21 minutes.

Chris Darnell-A VERY good game from CD. He was also perfect on the night, going 3-3 from the field, 1-1 from 3 and the stripe. Not only did he make a big 3, but he had a high-flying dunk, plus a foul shot. He finished with 8 points and 2 assists.

Chris Stratton-Stratt made the most of his 2 minutes tonight. Off a great pass from Steve Hess, Chris threw down what I’m assuming was his first in-game dunk.

Let’s upset VCU monday night.

Check back tomorrow night for our Bracket Buster opponent!
