Tribe Starts Home Slate with a Bang, 77-53
Posted by TTHS on November 21st, 2006
The Tribe cruised to a 24-point win, leading wire-to-wire and having a double-digit lead most of the game.
Everybody played, but the team was led Laimis Kisielius. Laimis scored 18, and the first 8 points of the game. Danny Sumner had a huge game, getting 12 points in 16 minutes. David Schneider had another solid game, getting 8 points, 6 assists, and 2 boards.
Adam Payton got a career-high 8 rebounds, and he also scored 9 points. He had 2 steals, but played great D all game.
The point guard slot, when Schneider wasn’t in, was manned(no pun intended) but Nathan Mann and Adam Trumbower. Trum scored 2 points, and Mann got none. I would really like to see Nathan step up.
The big men started to play better this game. Corey Cofield scored 9 points and got 5 rebounds. Chris Darnell got 7 and 5. Stratton, Smith, Hess, and Stein got 2 points each.
The Tribe shooting was much improved, especially in the second half, and they end the game at 50%. The 50% from the charity stripe wasn’t great, but I’m sure it will be a point of emphasis this week.
W&M dominated the paint, a much-needed change, scoring 40 to Wagner’s 10. We’ll need to do the same to beat Holy Cross and their potent scorers.
A nice win for the Tribe, getting a W after playing solid in their first game. Holy Cross will be a tough opponent, who has won 3 straight and beat us at the Hall last season. It’s shaping up to be a great game.
Go Tribe!
